Fulton, Mo. - Central Methodist Men's Basketball delivered a dominant road performance Wednesday night, rolling past William Woods 97–65 at Anderson Arena in Fulton, Mo.
The Eagles pick up their third straight win and improve to 14–7 overall and 8–5 in conference play. William Woods drops to 6-16 and 3-11 in the Heart of America.
The Eagles set the tone early, racing out to a 49–28 halftime lead behind efficient shooting and balanced scoring. CMU never let up in the second half, outscoring the Owls 48–37 to secure the convincing victory.
Tyson Oghene led all scorers with a game-high 24 points, knocking down five three-pointers on the night while shooting eight-for-13 from the floor.
Reigning Heart Defensive Player of the Week Austin Prater turned in a monster all-around performance, posting 20 points and a game-high 17 rebounds to anchor Central on both ends of the floor. It marks the second straight game in which Prater has grabbed 17 rebounds.
Isaiah Reams orchestrated the offense with precision, finishing with 15 points and 12 assists to record a double-double, while Thomas Sowoolu added 11 points off the bench. Markus Perkins chipped in nine points and eight rebounds.
As a team, Central shot an impressive 53.3 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from beyond the arc, connecting on 14 three-pointers. The Eagles also controlled the glass, outrebounding William Woods 46–34, and dished out 21 assists on 32 made field goals.
CMU held WWU to 32.4 percent shooting from the field and just 21.2 percent from three-point range.
The Eagles remain on the road for another conference matchup against Benedictine College Saturday, Jan. 31 at 4:00 p.m. in Atchison, Kan.
