Bellevue, Neb. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team closed out the Chick-fil-A Classic with a 96-68 victory over Haskell Indian Nations University Saturday afternoon in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Central improves to 2-0 while the Fighting Indians fall to 0-2.
Just like in their first game Friday night, the Eagles shot extremely well from all areas of the floor, converting 53.2 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from three, and 85.7 percent from the charity stripe.
Raphael Gay led the Eagles in scoring with 23 points on nine-of-11 shooting. He also added four rebounds, three steals and an assist to his statline.
Tommie Williams tallied 19 points which included three three-point baskets. Additionally, Williams grabbed four rebounds, dished out four assists, and recorded three steals.
Isaiah Reams rounded out the double digit scorers with 16 points while shooting a perfect seven-of-seven from the free throw line.
Kylen Smith nearly cracked double figures with nine points while matching Williams with a trio of threes.
Austin Prater had a balanced night for Central, scoring seven points and grabbing a team-high nine rebounds.
As a team, CMU controlled the glass, grabbing 41 rebounds compared to just 31 for Haskell.
The Eagles will next compete in the KWU Classic, beginning with a matchup against Bethel Friday, Oct. 31 at 4:00 p.m. in Salina, Kansas.
