Fayette, Mo. - For the second time this season, Central Methodist senior forward Bol Tong was named the Heart of America Defensive Player of the Week by the conference office Monday.
Tong has racked up several Heart Weekly awards in 2025, including Offensive Player of the Week honors on Jan. 6, followed by a Defensive Player of the Week nod on Jan. 13.
The Kansas City, Missouri native helped lead the Eagles to a victory in double overtime against Benedictine last Wednesday and a convincing win against the Pride from Clarke University Saturday.
Tong averaged 7.5 defensive rebounds and 2.5 blocks/game in Central's two wins. Bol was crucial in CMU's narrow overtime victory over Benedictine, as he grabbed eight total rebounds and tallied three blocks.
Additionally, he averaged 23.5 points/game including 26 points against the Pride on Saturday.
The Eagles are currently 12-9 overall and 9-8 in the Heart of America conference.
Central aims to extend its winning streak to three games Wednesday, Jan. 29, as they face Missouri Valley in Marshall, Mo.
