Central Remains Undefeated at Home with Win over Culver-Stockton

Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team made easy work of Culver-Stockton College Thursday night, recording a 103-82 win inside Puckett Field House. 

Central improves to 15-2 and 11-2 in the Heart of America, while Culver falls to 7-9 and 5-7 in conference action. In addition, the Eagles keep their perfect home record intact at 11-0. 

For the sixth consecutive game, the Eagles defeated their opponent by double digits. Central shot nearly 50 percent from the floor and knocked down 12-of-29 shots from the three-point line for 41.4 percent. 

In addition, CMU converted 17-of-22 attempts from the charity stripe. 

Central dominated the glass, outrebounding the Wildcats 45-30 which included 15 boards on the offensive end. 

Six Eagles landed in double figures including all five players in the starting lineup. 

TreVon Smith led all scorers with 23 points paired with 10 rebounds to secure a double double. He also added four assists and two steals. 

Peter Turay joined Smith in the double double club with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Everett Stubblefield matched Turay with 14 points. 

Trey Sinegal and Isaiah Williams each recorded 13 points while Isaiah May added 12 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. 

The Eagles remain at home and will host Mount Mercy University in a rescheduled game Monday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
