Central Drops Conference Road Game Against Wildcats

Canton, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team suffered its first loss of the year at the hands of Culver-Stockton College, 77-71, Tuesday night in Canton, Mo.

Central now stands at 5-1 and 1-1 in the Heart of America, while CS-C improves to 3-3 and 1-1 in conference play.

Three different Eagles landed in double figures, led by TreVon Smith who recorded 17 points while also tallying three rebounds, and an assist.

Peter Turay followed with 16 points and had a monster game on the glass, grabbing 21 rebounds, just three rebounds shy of tying the school record. The senior also recorded three blocks.

Trey Sinegal was the final Eagle to score in double figures, scoring 14 points. The duo of Everett Stubblefield and Marcus Anthony each tallied eight points.

CMU outrebounded the Wildcats on the glass, grabbing 46 rebounds compared to 39 for CS-C.

However, Central struggled from beyond the arc, converting just 19.2-percent from the three-point line.

Culver committed just six turnovers on the evening, while the Eagles committed 16.

CMU will next host Baker University Saturday, Nov. 25 at 4:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
