Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist basketball program has earned an at-large berth into this year's NAIA Men's Basketball National Tournament.
CMU has earned the No. 11 seed in the Liston quadrant and will square off against No. 6 seeded Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) Friday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Waxahachie, Texas.
The Eagles earned an at-large berth into the dance after advancing to the semifinals of the Heart Conference Tournament. Central enters the tournament with an overall record of 22-10 and a conference record of 12-7. The Lions of SAGU enter the dance with a 22-8 mark and a Sooner Conference Tournament Championship.
CMU will participate in the national tournament for the first time since the 2017-18 season, where they advanced all the way to the Sweet 16.
The winner of the Eagles and Lions will square off against the winner of Montana Tech and Mid-America Christian (Okla.) in the Opening Round Championship Saturday, March 12. The winner of that matchup will advance to the Final Site in Kansas City, Mo. beginning March, 17.
