Fayette, Mo. - The (RV) Central Methodist men's basketball program outlasted Heart South Division foe Park University 78-70 Saturday night inside Puckett Field House. 

With the win, the Eagles improve to 19-9 and 10-7 in conference play, while the Pirates fall to 13-10 and 8-9 in conference play. Central currently sits in second place in the Heart South Division standings. 

The Eagles held a 40-33 halftime lead over the Pirates. Despite Park trimming the lead to as few as six on two different occassions in the second, the Eagles held on for the eight point victory. 

Sophomore guard Jonathan Brown recorded his 13th twenty-plus point performance of the year in the win. The native of London, England tallied 22 points on nine-of-17 shooting from the field. He also knocked down several three-point baskets to shift momentum back with Central in the late stages of the game.  

Isaiah May and Trent Lyles each joined Brown in double figures with 16 and 13 points respectively along with three three-point baskets. Lyles also recorded five rebounds, four assists, and a steal. 

Senior transfer Tim Cameron stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, seven rebounds, six steals, five assists and a block. Charlie Bronakowski scored seven points in nine minutes off the bench. 

As a unit, the Eagles shot over 50-percent from the floor and 40-percent from beyond the arc. The Pirates just edged CMU on the glass with 36 rebounds compared to 34 for the Eagles. 

Central will remain at home for a key division matchup against MidAmerica Nazarene University Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
