CMU battles NCAA DI member Brigham Young in Provo

Provo, Utah - In front of more than 15,000 fans, the Central Methodist men's basketball program took on NCAA DI member Brigham Young University in an exhibition contest Saturday night at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah.

The Eagles ultimately fell to the Cougars by a final score of 97-61 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Sophomore guard Jonathan Brown led the Eagles' offense with 24 points on seven-of-11 shooting from the field, including a perfect eight-of-eight from the charity stripe.

Tim Cameron and Isaiah May joined Brown in double figures with 10 points each. May also led the rebounding efforts for Central, as the sophomore guard grabbed six boards.

As a team, CMU finished the evening shooting 50-percent from the field and 33.3-percent from beyond the arc.

The Eagles return to regular season play with a matchup against Trinity International Friday, Nov. 26 at 4:00 p.m. in Kingsport, Tenn. as part of The NAIA Show Classic.
