Ron Lee Leads Central Over Culver-Stockton 81-64

Canton, Mo. – Senior shooting guard Ron Lee (SR/Oak Park, Calif.) scored 39 points on Thursday evening to help lead the Central Methodist University Eagles to a road conference win at Culver-Stockton College, by a final of 81-64 in Canton, Missouri.

With the victory, the Eagles improve to 10-6 overall and 7-5 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. With the loss, the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats drop their 15th straight game and fall to 1-15 overall and 0-12 in The Heart.

Cole Adair (SR/Fishers, Ind.) came out and knocked down a jumper just 18 seconds into the game, giving CMU a 2-0 lead; the Eagles would never look back. In the first half, Central shot 20-of-36 from the field, and 5-for-10 from beyond the three-point arc. The Central defense held Culver-Stockton in check in the first half, holding the Wildcats to 11-of-27 shooting from the field. At halftime, CMU lead Culver-Stockton 47-33.

In the second half, Culver-Stockton improved from the field, but the Eagles continued to play strong. Central made 11 free-throws in the second half, while shooting 11-for-25 from the field. The Eagles outscored the Wildcats 34-31 in the second half, and held on for the 81-64 victory.

In the win, Ron Lee led all scorers with a season high 39 points on 15-of-19 shooting. Lee was coming off one of his worst performances of the season this past Monday at home to Peru State College, where he scored just nine points. The 39 points is Lee's second highest scoring output of the season; he scored 40 points at William Penn University back on November 12th.

Cole Adair finished with 16 points and a team high nine rebounds, while Charles Harris III (SR/Antioch, Ill.) also chimed in with 13 points for CMU.

The Eagles continue their three-game roadtrip this coming Saturday, when they travel south to Springfield to face Evangel University. The men are scheduled to tip-off at 4pm, with the women's game to precede the men at 2pm.
