With the loss, the 22nd ranked Central Methodist University Eagles fall to 10-5 overall and 4-3in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. With the victory, Grand View University improves to 8-6 overall and 2-5 in The Heart.

Saturday's match-up between the Grand View Vikings and the Eagles was close throughout. After the first half, Grand View took a slim 38-37 lead into halftime. CMU shot 45% from the floor in the first half, to Grand View's 43%.

In the second half, the story remained the same, but this time CMU outscored Grand View by a point; 40-39, to force overtime.

In the first overtime, both teams finished with eight points apiece, forcing another five extra minutes of play. In the second overtime, the teams remained close until the final seconds. Ron Lee made a layup with three seconds left to cut the deficit to one point at 96-95; Grand View led. Lee then fouled on the inbounds play, sending Grand View to the free-throw line. Chase Mullen hit both free-throws to give the Vikings a three point lead at 98-95. Cole Adair then turned the ball over on the inbounds play and a foul was committed. Grand View went back to the free-throw line and hit both attempts to finish off the Eagles and claim the 100-95 victory.

In the loss, four Eagles scored in double-figures, led by Jay Jones' 29 points. For the fourth straight game, Scott Stegeman finished in double-digits in rebounds with 16.

The 22nd ranked Eagles return home this Monday to host, Benedictine College; who are currently receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll. The Lady Eagles will get things started at 5:30pm, followed by the men at 7:30pm.
