KANSAS CITY - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Monday that Central Methodist senior guard John Palmer and redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Erisman are among 48 Men's Basketball Division I student-athletes that have been named 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes.
Palmer sports a 3.91 grade point average (GPA) in sports management. The Palmer, Alaska, native had his last season of eligibility cut short in early December due to injury but averaged 6.0 points and 4.2 assists per game. Palmer ends his two-year career with the Eagles having totaled 363 points, 169 assists and 22 steals in 41 games.�
Erisman has been a member of the Eagles' program for three seasons. The Warrensburg, Mo., product holds a perfect 4.00 GPA in mathematics.
Biola (Calif.) led all institutions with five individuals on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director for this honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved at least a junior academic status.
