LAMONI, Iowa - Graceland (Iowa) ended a 12-game losing streak with an 85-65 upset of Central Methodist on Thursday in Heart of America Athletic Conference action. The Eagles suffered their first loss in the Closson Center since the 2010-11 campaign.
Trey Sathoff eclipsed the 20-point mark for the third time in the last four games to lead Graceland (6-20, 3-14) to a win in the Closson Center. Sathoff scored a game-high 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting to go along with six rebounds. Austin Danner added 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots for Graceland, while Isaiah Miller poured in 13 points and Carl Martin chipped in with 12 points and five assists.�
The Yellowjackets never trailed in the game, taking a 17-4 lead at the 10:18 mark of the first half before holding a 14-point halftime lead. The lead never dropped below 12 points in the second half and grew to as much as 24 points on a three-point shot by Lonnie Campbell with 1:50 to play.�
Mike McCode had 14 points for Central Methodist (18-11, 8-9 HAAC), while Scott Stegeman added 12 points and Mitchell Farr tallied 10. Devin Pearson had nine points and eight rebounds.
Central Methodist closes out the regular season Saturday with Senior Day against Peru State (Neb.). Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. CT.
