FAYETTE, Mo. - Andrew Wright, a 6'0 guard, becomes the third student-athlete that has signed to play for the Central Methodist men's basketball team for the 2013-14 season, coach Jeff Sherman announced.

Wright was an All-Conference and All-Area honorable mention selection last season for Blue Springs High School in Blue Springs, Mo. He helped guide the Jaguars to a 25-3 record and Suburban Big Six Conference and Class 5 District 14 championships.

"Andrew was one of our incoming freshmen recruits where we felt his winning background at Blue Springs South along with his ability to shoot the basketball at a very high percentage were most needed for our program," Sherman said.


Wright averaged seven points per game and shot 40 percent (44-of-110) from behind the arc.

"Andrew is one of the better 3-point shooters in the state and has an excellent background and knowledge of the game of basketball," Sherman commented. "He has a very good work ethic and is a clutch player in crucial situations."

Wright joins guard John Palmer and forward Zach Adams in the 2013 Signing Class.

Central Methodist was 19-13 overall last season and advanced to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals.
