FAYETTE, Mo. - Coming off its win against No. 17 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.), the Central Methodist men's basketball team hosts Graceland (Iowa) for Student Organization Night in Puckett Fieldhouse on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Black Dominates in Central Methodist's Latest Win
Senior forward Elliott Black tallied 27 points to lead the Eagles over No. 17 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) 83-73 last Saturday. Black's 27 points are his second highest of the season, one shy of his 28-point performance against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) on Jan. 17. The Saint Louis native was 9-of-14 from the field last Saturday and 9-of-10 from the free throw line to go along with seven rebounds, one assist and one block. For his efforts, he was named the HAAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Father vs. Son
Thursday's game will feature the second matchup of Central Methodist coach Jeff Sherman and Graceland assistant coach Matt Sherman, Jeff's oldest son. Matt Sherman was a standout player for the Eagles and his father on the hardcourt from 2006-10 and is in his first season as an assistant for the Yellowjackets.
The father is 1-0 all-time against the son after the Eagles picked up a 20-point win in Lamoni, Iowa, on Jan. 3. Central Methodist's win that night was also the 500th of Jeff Sherman's 28-year career.
