Dan Schmidlin has been a part of CMU Soccer since he arrived on campus in 2008. In his first six seasons, Coach Schmidlin coached both the men's and women's programs, before solely focusing on the women's program after the 2013 season. In 18 seasons, he has amassed a combined record of 300-141-35, and a 250-90-27 record with the Eagle women's team. Schmidlin reached 300 career wins in Central's Heart Tournament Semifinal win over Benedictine on November 8, 2025. His 250 career wins with the women's program puts him in the Top 25 of all-time winningest coaches in NAIA history. Under Schmidlin's guidance, the women have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in nine straight seasons, including two quarterfinal appearances and a semifinal trip in 2021. Additionally, Central has dominated the Heart of America during that span, winning seven Regular Season Conference Championships and four Tournament titles. From October 2018 to 2023, the Eagles went undefeated in 64 consecutive home matches at Davis Field. Schmidlin is a five-time Heart of America Coach of the Year (2017, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2025) and has coached 91 All-Conference selections and 23 All-Americans.
