Mitch Cochran

Mitch Cochran starred in four sports while at Central and gained recognition as a First Team All-American in basketball in 1950. He earned 11 varsity letters during his intercollegiate athletic career at Central. 

He is a member of the 1,000-point club, finishing his career with 1,270 total points from 1947-51. 

After his college years, his interest in sports continued. For more than 30 years, he was a prominent football and basketball official throughout Missouri. Mitch served on CMC's All-Sport Booster Club Steering Committee from its inception. 

Cochran was a member of the Central Methodist College education faculty from 1967 to 1995 and served as Director of Clinical Experiences. He supervised more than 1,500 student teachers, who enjoyed extraordinarily high placement rates year after year. 

Mitch passed away in April 1999 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
