Omar Dean Ehlers '51 was a CMU dual sport athlete playing both baseball and basketball. He excelled on the hardwood for four seasons from 1947-51, finishing his career with 1630 points. At the conclusion of his career he stood as the all-time scoring leader and today, over 70 years later, remains in the all-time top ten scoring list currently standing eighth . Additionally, Ehlers was a part of two MCAU Championships in 1949-50 and 1950-51. The 1950-51 team finished with a 24-5 record and qualified for the NAIA National tournament.
