Peru, Neb. - The Central Methodist Women's Basketball program picked up a much needed win over Peru State College Saturday afternoon in Peru, Neb.
Central cruised past Peru State, 90-69. The Eagles now stand at 8-17 and 5-16 in the Heart of America, while PSC is now 7-18 and 5-16 in conference action.
CMU raced out to a 23-13 first quarter lead and held a nine-point advantage going into the locker room at the halftime break.
The Eagles maintained their lead after three quarters of play, and scored a game-high 27 points in the fourth to cruise to a 21-point victory.
Nautica Washington led Central with 19 points on seven-of-12 shooting from the floor. The native of Columbia, Missouri also recorded seven steals and dished out five assists.
Kayhla Adams followed with 16 points which included four three-point baskets in 20 minutes of play.
Senior guard Tristan Porter produced her best game of the season, scoring 15 points on five-of-17 shooting. Additionally, she added four rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
Mary Copeland rounded out Central's double-digit scorers with 14 points.
CMU produced one of its best shooting performances of the year, knocking down 57.6 percent of their attempts from the floor including 45 percent from beyond the arc.
The Eagles also converted 13-of-16 free throw attempts, while the defense forced 24 Bobcat turnovers.
Central returns home for its final three game stretch of the season, beginning with a mid-week matchup against Park University Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
