Baldwin City, Kan. - The Central Methodist Women's Basketball team traveled to Baldwin, Kansas, to take on Baker University Wednesday night.
In their second and final season meeting, the Eagles fell to the Wildcats 73-63. Central now stands at 7-17 and 4-16 in the Heart of America. Baker is now 5-16 and 4-15 in conference action.
CMU had an impressive start to the game, outscoring Baker 21-13 in the first quarter.
The Wildcats turned things around quickly in the second ten minutes, limiting the Eagles to just six points in the frame.
Baker went into halftime leading 30-27.
Central remained within striking distance, trailing by four entering the fourth. But Baker had its best run in the final frame, dropping 24 points to come away with a double-digit win over the Eagles.
Freshman Nautica Washington led Central in scoring with 18 points on 50 percent shooting from the floor. She also added five assists and two steals.
Kaelyn Johnson nearly secured a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds while providing a defensive presence with three steals and a block.
Kayhla Adams finished the evening with nine points, all three coming from beyond the arc.
Baker won the battle of the boards, outrebounding Central 34-27. The Wildcats knocked down eight three-point baskets compared to just five for Central.
The Eagles will travel to Peru, Nebraska on Saturday, Feb. 8 to take on Peru State at 2:00 p.m.
