Parkville, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's basketball team faced another road nail-biter in a 56-51 road loss to Park Wednesday night in Parkville, Mo. 

Central now stands at 5-7 and 2-6 in the Heart of America, while the Pirates are now 6-5 and 4-4 in conference action. 

For the second straight game, the Eagles started the first quarter on the right foot, jumping out to a 10-7 lead after the opening 10. 

The Pirates took note and responded well in the second quarter, outsourcing CMU 15-9 and taking a 22-19 lead into halftime.

Both teams were even in scoring in the third, putting up 15 points each. 

With 15 seconds remaining in regulation, Central had an opportunity to tie the game down 54-51. However, the Pirates defense forced a turnover with seven seconds left to seal the win. 

Senior guard Sharay Trotter led the Eagles in scoring with 19 points to go along with seven rebounds, five steals, and two assists. 

Maliyah Miller reached double figures with 11 points including two three-point baskets. She also tallied four rebounds and two assists. 

Nautcia Washington tallied 10 points, while Sa'Mya Stevens nearly secured a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. 

CMU finished the game shooting 33.9 percent from the floor, but struggled from distance, converting just two three-point attempts. 

In the rebounding battle, Central came out on top with 41 rebounds compared to 40 for Park. 

The Eagles will conclude their three game road trip Saturday, Dec. 14 as they travel to Lamoni, Iowa to take on Graceland at 2:00 pm.
