Central Falls to MNU in Heart Conference Opener

Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's Basketball team fell to MidAmerica Nazarene in the first game of Heart of Amercica Conference play Wednesday night inside Puckett Field House.

Central fell to the Pioneers by a score of 77-47. The Eagles now stand at 3-2 and 0-1 in the Heart of America, while MNU improves to 3-2 and 1-0 in conference play.

Tristan Porter was CMU's highest scorer with 12 points in 32 minutes of action. She also added eight rebounds and an assist to her stat line. Freshman Nautica Washington was the only other Eagle to land in double figures, finishing the game with 11 points.

Senior guard Kayhla Adams nearly cracked double figures with eight points.

It was a tough shooting night for the Eagles, as they converted only 28.6 percent of their shots from the floor and just 17.4 percent from the three-point line.

MNU controlled the glass from start to finish, outrebounding Central 53-33. Eighteen of the Pioneers' rebounds came on the offensive glass.

CMU heads out on the road to face William Penn University Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 p.m. in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
