Fayette, Mo. - With five Eagles landing in double figures, the No. 13 Central Methodist Women's Basketball program earned a 43-point victory over Park University Saturday afternoon inside Puckett Field House.
The Eagles improve to 23-4 and 13-4 in conference play. Park falls to 8-15 and 2-15 in the Heart.
Central jumped out to a 28-10 first quarter lead, before heading into the locker room at halftime up 50-20. The Eagles outscored the Pirates 23-12 in the third quarter and 16-14 in the fourth to earn a 89-46 victory.
Arleighshya McElroy recorded her fourth consecutive 20-plus point performance, scoring a game-high 24 points in 32 minutes of action. In addition, the native of Dallas, Texas collected five assists, three steals, and two rebounds.
Daryna Bachkarova landed in double figures for the fourth-straight game, tallying 19 points, along with six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Eternati Willock finished the afternoon with a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing a game-high 16 rebounds.
Kedranea' Addison and Leah Johnson rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points each, while Addison nearly joined Willock in the double-double club with nine rebounds. The senior guard also added a game-high six steals
Overall, Central finished the afternoon shooting 47.1-percent from the floor and outrebounded the Pirates, 52-27. Central's defense held Park to only 28.6-percent shooting from the field and forced 24 turnovers on 19 steals.
The Eagles are next set to host MidAmerica Nazarene University Wednesday Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m. in Puckett Field House. The winner of the contest will claim sole possession of first place in the Heart South Division standings.
