KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After a spectacular season, Mercedes Jefflo (JR/Compton, Calif.) was recognized as a Third-Team All-American, announced by the NAIA on Thursday.
Jefflo becomes the 18th NAIA All-American in Central Methodist women's basketball history. It is also the seventh straight season in which the Lady Eagles have had an All-American.
The honor adds to an already impressive resume for Jefflo, which includes being named Heart All-Conference First Team as well as the Heart Newcomer of the Year.
A well-rounded player that excelled on both offense and defense, Jefflo averaged 19.5 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 4.4 APG, 3.3 SPG, and 1.4 BPG. She was second on the team with 52 three-pointers. She scored at least 20 points in 11 games this season.
She led Central Methodist to a 20-12 mark, a No. 3 seed in the conference tournament, and an appearance in the conference tournament semifinals.
