"We are where we need to be," said CMU associate head coach Greg Ray. "We know we matched up and competed well within The Heart, but we still have to continue to get better and prove ourselves on the national stage. That's what this conference tournament is all about."

Overall, Central Methodist holds a record of 25-3 overall and 20-2 in The Heart. CMU won the Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season title and has already clinched a berth to the NAIA National Tournament.

The Lady Eagles hosted William Penn University last Wednesday, in Central Methodist's home regular season finale. CMU defeated the Statesmen 86-74. The regular season came to a close this past Saturday, when Central Methodist traveled to Atchison, Kansas to face previous ranked 18th Benedictine College. Last Saturday's contest was tabbed as the NAIA Network Game of the Week Presented by Stretch Internet. The 18th ranked Ravens upset the 13th ranked Lady Eagles 82-69.

The Heart of America Athletic Conference, along with two other conferences led all leagues with four teams represented each. The teams that appeared in this week's poll from The Heart include: MidAmerica Nazarene University (9th), Benedictine College (19th), Baker University (24th), and Culver-Stockton College (RV).

The 13th�ranked Lady Eagles will host the winner of tonight's Grand View University/Evangel winner in a Heart quarterfinal game this Thursday evening at 7pm inside of Puckett Field House.

"We are tightening our ship and taking care of the little things as we prepare for Evangel or Grand View," added Ray. "The second season starts Thursday night for us. Everyone is 0-0 now, and at the end of this thing, we want to be playing at the top of our game and hopefully cutting down the nets on our home court."
