"Coach (Mike) Davis and his staff have done a terrific job this season, and 600 wins is evidence of the coaching ability Mike has," said CMU athletics director Brian Spielbauer. "It takes a long line of success to total 600 wins in basketball, this honor is shared by every player and coach that Mike has worked with over the many years at Central Methodist University and Columbia College."
Mike Davis is in his 26th year of coaching in 2015-16; his 13th season at Central Methodist University. Davis is on his second stint at CMU, after spending 13 seasons as the head coach down the road at fellow NAIA school Columbia College. Coach Davis is currently second on the NAIA Division 1 Women's Basketball Winningest Active Coaches list. Entering the season, Dale Neal; head coach at Freed-Hardeman in Tennessee ranked first with 807 wins in his 32 years of coaching. Russ Davis from Vanguard University in California was in third place behind Coach Davis entering the season; 76 wins behind him.
"We are pleased to have him here and are looking forward to the final push this season," added Spielbauer.
The 13th ranked Lady Eagles close out the regular season this Saturday at 18th ranked Benedictine College. Tip-time is scheduled for 2pm and will be featured as the NAIA Network Game of the Week - Presented by Stretch Internet.
