"We've been watching Petra the last couple of years, and I really think she is a perfect fit for what we like to do," Arnold said. "She has the ability to mix it up inside when need be but her real strength is to stretch the defense because she has tremendous range. Petra has the physique to handle the physical play inside but the perimeter skills to be a threat off the bounce as well."
Stankovic, a native of Dubrovnik, Croatia, has played two seasons for Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and will have two seasons of eligibility to compete for the Eagles. The junior college is currently 16-3 and has been ranked in the NJCAA Division II Top 20 throughout 2012-13.
Through 19 games, Stankovic is averaging seven points and five rebounds per contest for the Comets.

"Petra has been a really solid player for us the past two seasons," Cottey coach Dave Ketterman commented. "She has the capability to score in bunches and had several double-double outings. She is an excellent three-point shooter, can shoot the mid-range step-back shot, and has an excellent baseline move and finish.
"I think her game will improve as she has the ability to play with a legitimate low-post threat at Central Methodist. Petra is an extremely hard worker and should compete for playing time immediately."

Stankovic has also played in the Croatian Junior League and Adriatic League. She was a member of the Croatian U18 National Team and posted 19 minutes played against Denmark in the 2009 European Championships.
Stankovic becomes the third member of the 2013 Signing Class, joining forward Sammie Jo Copeland and guard Courtney Owens.
Central Methodist finished the regular season 23-6 overall and third in the Heart of America Athletic Conference for the second straight season.
