Columbia, Mo. - The Central Methodist men's golf team continues its strong fall showing, this time with a second place finish at the Columbia College Cougar Classic Monday and Tuesday in Columbia, Mo.
The field featured 45 golfers from eight different institutions.
Senior Matias Baccola led the CMU men, as the native of La Falda, Argentina tied for second with identical scores of 70. Aaron Teece and Tomas Lopez Mazzalay both tied for fifth with scores of 142.
Luke Truter fired rounds of 72 and 75 for a total of 147, good enough to finish T16.
Overall, the Central men posted a final team score of 584.
Columbia College won the team title with a score of 561, as the top three finishers were represented by CC golfers.
The men will next compete at the Heart of America Conference Preview at The Preserve, Oct. 24-25 in Moravia, Iowa.
