Quincy, Ill. - The Central Methodist men's and women's golf programs competed in the final regular-season tournament of the year, taking part in the Quincy Invite Monday and Tuesday in Quincy, Ill.
Other teams competing in the tournament included Southern Indiana, William Woods, Truman State, Purdue Northwest, Quincy University, Southwest Baptist, Culver-Stockton, Missouri Valley College, and Hanibal-LaGrange. The men posted a third-place finish while the women finished sixth.
Cassandra Contreras was the highest finisher for the Eagles, placing seventh out of 45 golfers with rounds of 85 and 84. Alea Andrade was T13, followed by Bailey Stefanski (31), Lauren DuVall (34), and Natasha Provinse (44).
Maria Zrodowska of William Woods won the invite with a final score of 152, and Southern Indiana claimed the team title with a total score of 652.
On the men's side, junior Matias Baccola placed T6 with a two-round score of 151. Tiago Swart also landed in the top 10, firing rounds of 78 and 75.
Aaron Teece nearly cracked the top 10 with an 11th place finish, followed by Nzelu Maitha (T16), and Trace Brown (T26).
William Wood's Logan Smith won the individual title with scores of 72 and 73, and the Owls also claimed the team championship with a total score of 603.
The Eagles will now gear up for postseason play, next competing in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships April 26 and 27 at The Golf Club at Creekmoore, Raymore, Mo.
