Kansas City, Mo. - After a stellar showing in CMU's 44-0 shut out of Graceland University Saturday, senior punter Samuel Petrin has been tabbed as this week's Heart Football Special Team's Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday.
Petrin, a native of Bunnell, Fla., was perfect on special teams, converting on all six of his extra points, all while recording seven kickoffs for 426 yards including two touchbacks. He also recorded three punts for 124 total yards, averaging 41.3 yards/punt, and pinning the Yellowjackets inside the one-yard line in the second quarter.
This is now Petrin's fourth Heart Player of the Week award of his career, as he earned the honor three times in 2020. Central currently boasts a 3-1 mark, the best start to a season since the 2013 campaign.
The Eagles are back on the road to face (RV) Culver-Stockton College Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1:00 p.m. in Canton, Mo.
