Football Tabs Five in All-Conference Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. ---- The Central Methodist football team had five players selected in the Heart of America Athletic Conference awards that were handed out Monday afternoon.

Finishing 2-9 on the year, the Eagles were represented well by the league office. Offensive lineman Alex Black (JR/Clarksville, Mo.), and linebacker Darrius Henton (JR/Stockton, Calif.) were each recognized to the second team. Black led an offensive line as a junior that helped produce 26 touchdowns. Henton led the team with 106 tackles on the year, which was capitalized by a 25 tackle game in the season finale over Avila. Henton also ranks number five in the NAIA in tackles per game with 10.6.

Offensive linemen Danny Wolf (JR/Columbia, Mo.) and Miles Wallace (JR/Memphis, Tenn.) were joined by quarterback Caleb Bedford (SR/Houston, Tex.) as honorable mentions. Wolf and Wallace added even more stability to the offensive line this season. Bedford was 11 yards shy of 2,000 total yards on the year, and averaged 221 yards of total offense per game. Bedford is the only member that was also recognized last year by the Heart as an All-Conference performer.
