Football Drops Home Game Against No. 18 Benedictine

FAYETTE, Mo. ---- The Central Methodist football team fell to No. 18 Benedictine at home on family weekend Saturday afternoon.

NOTES
• Benedictine improved to 5-1 as Central Methodist fell to 1-5 after the 76-7 final score.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
Caleb Bedford led the Eagles offensively completing 18-35 attempts for 241 yards.
Marcus Whiteside caught five passes for 70 total yards.
Tevin Reid scored the lone touchdown for the Eagles.
Roger White led the Eagles defensively with nine total tackles.
• Ejay Johnson paced the Ravens with 145 yards on the ground for four touchdowns, and Cole Holloway added 133 yards with two scores.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Benedictine scored twice in the first quarter on rushes from Johnson and Stewart to lead 13-0.
• Benedictine added five scores in the second quarter, including a defensive touchdown, to lead 48-0 at the half.
• Benedictine added two scores in the third quarter on rushes from Johnson and Schuetz.
• The Central Methodist offense added its first points of the game in the fourth quarter on a one-yard rush from Reid to cap a 75 yard drive.
• Benedictine added two touchdowns on a pair of rushes from Holloway for the final score of 76-7.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Benedictine totaled 506 yards of offense, while Central Methodist tallied 254.
• Turnovers proved costly for Central Methodist with three fumbles and two interceptions.
• Benedictine finished with 25 first downs, and Central Methodist acquired 13.
