Oskaloosa, Iowa. - The Central Methodist football team fell on the road to William Penn 37-7 Saturday afternoon.

NOTES
• The Eagles dropped to 1-3 for the season, as the Statesman are 2-2 for the season.
• Central Methodist outscored William Penn in the third quarter 7-0.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
Christopher Gardner (SO/Dallas, Tex.) lead the Eagles in rushing with four carries for a total of 42 yards.
Darrius Henton (JR/Stockton, Calif.) lead the defense with four solo tackles and 14 assisted, for a total of 18 tackles.
• Carl Sivels had a game high for the Statesmen with two receptions for a total of 78 yards with one reception for 71 yards, adding a touchdown.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the first quarter, William Penn's running back Cooper, scored on a one-yard carry making it 7-0.
• Central Methodist had possession on the 27-yard line, but Coleman sacked Reid forcing a fumble for William Penn, recovered by Vasquez for a 27-yard touchdown bringing the score to 14-0.

Entering the second quarter, William Penn scored on a three-yard carry by Veldhuizen. With 4:52 left on the clock William Penn's Johnson scored on a two-yard run bringing the score to 28-0
Central Methodist got on the board in the third quarter, with the longest run by Gardner 25-yard carry into the end zone. O'Connell came in for the extra point attempt on the kick and was good. Eagles trailed 28-7.

• In the fourth quarter, William Penn added nine on the board with a safety, and a touchdown pass from Wood to Sivels, making the final score 37-7.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Statesmen totaled 312 yards during the game, while the Eagles were allowed 64 total yards.
• The Statesmen lead with 11 tackles for loss, Eagles finished the game with 10.

UP NEXT
• The Eagles will return to action, September 23rd, when they travel to Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. The game is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
