With the victory, Central Methodist improves to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the South Division of the Heart of America Athletic Conference. With the loss, Evangel falls to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the South Division.

The Eagles jumped on the Crusaders in the first half and took a 21-0 lead into halftime. Central Methodist scored on a pair of touchdown passes from Caleb Bedford to Jamall Williams. The other score came on a punt from the Eagles, Evangel broke through the line and blocked the punt, however CMU's Jeremiah Jackson recovered the loose ball and ran it into the end zone from 30 yards out for the touchdown.

After trailing for the entire first half, Evangel outscored Central Methodist 21-3 in the third quarter to bring the game to 24-21 in favor of the Eagles.

The Crusaders struck for an early touchdown in the fourth quarter to take a 28-24 lead. Central Methodist roared back with another touchdown from Caleb Bedford to Jamall Williams; the pair's third touchdown of the afternoon.

Kicker Luke Longstreet sealed the victory for the Eagles with a 37 yard field goal in the final two minutes to help CMU claim the 34-28 division victory.

Jamall Williams led the Eagles with four receptions for 65 yards and three touchdowns.

The Eagles hit the road for the final time this season next Saturday, when they travel west to Kansas to face Baker University with a 1pm kickoff. CMU comes home to Fayette for the final two weeks of the regular season, beginning on November 7th against MidAmerica Nazarene at 1pm down at Davis Field.
