After two straight practices in full pads, Central Methodist was back in limited gear Monday, focusing on all aspects of special teams and blitz pickup by the offense during 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.
Coach Jody Ford limited the contact during the session, not allowing players to take each other to the ground in team segments.
The Eagles got plenty accomplished during the eighth practice of the spring.
"Our special team units looked crisp today," Ford said. "From a defensive perspective, we want to confuse the offense as much as possible with formations, coverages and blitzes. The offense was able to see a lot of looks today, and I think Coach (John) Haines did a great job with his guys on knowing assignments in key situations."The Eagles will be back on the field Wednesday with six practices left before the Black and White Spring Game on Saturday, April 26, at 3 p.m. CT.
