About 35 athletes from across Missouri spent three hours the afternoon of Oct. 17 at Central Methodist's Davis Field for the clinic. The athletes went through 10 stations, five each on offensive and defensive skills, led by CMU players and coaches. Following the drills, the Special Olympics athletes were divided into four teams, and each team played two 20-minute games, with CMU players serving as coaches and officials during the games.

The Special Olympics flag football clinic was one of several community service projects that the football team completes throughout the year. The projects are part of Central Methodist's commitment to the NAIA Champions of Character program and its five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
