KANSAS CITY - Junior Hailey Breusch of Central Methodist was selected the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Breusch picked up the victory in the season-opening Eagle Invitational hosted by Central Methodist at the City Golf Course in Fayette, Mo. A native of Moberly, Mo., she edged teammate Emily Nealley to cross the line first with a time of 14:15.43 over the 2.25-mile course. The Eagles also captured the team title with a team score of 18 points.

Starting in two weeks, the weekly award winner will represent the HAAC in consideration for the NAIA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week award, which will be announced no later than Tuesday afternoons.
