Columbia, Mo. - Both CMU men's and women's cross country teams were in action this weekend, running in the Brian Simpson Invite at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
The men had four individual finishers in the 8K including; Dimitrios Gkantatsios (48th - 28:04.56), Randy Rojas Mendez (63rd - 28:31.54), Meshack Kiptanui (101st - 29:51.63), and Tristan Hickman (106th - 30:12.83).
The women produced nine individual finishers in the 5K led by Ali Gutierrez, who crossed the finish line in 20:54.61 to place 39th.
Sadie Burchett (50th - 21:10.58), Lili-Rose Breheret (65th - 21:57.54), Allena Rowland (66th - 21:58.28), Aliyaha Heron (86th - 23:17.86), Maria Burgos (89th - 23:33.60), Diane Ondobo (96th - 23:59.10), Bailey Arceneaux (97th - 23:59.23), Tanaja Bledsoe (99th - 24:09.42), and Ava Wilson (108th - 27:31.07) also ran for the Eagles.
As a team, the CMU women finished 10th with 240 total points.
Both teams will next compete in the Mike Spielman Classic hosted by Baker University Friday, Oct. 17 in Baldwin City, Kansas.
