Columbia, Ky. - The Central Methodist men's and women's golf programs continued their fall seasons at the Blue Raider Invitational hosted by Lindsey Wilson College Monday and Tuesday afternoon in Columbia, Ky.
Eight different institutions were represented at the tournament, made up of 81 total athletes. The CMU women placed third out of seven teams while the men finished fifth out of eight. Host Lindsey Wilson College won the team title on both sides, with scores of 573 for the women (two rounds), and 830 for the men (three rounds).
Cassandra Contreras posted a top 10 finish, firing rounds of 80 and 76. Alea Andrade followed with a two round score of 157, good enough for 13th place, while Sarah Krenowicz finished the tournament with a final score of 161.
Logan Allen finished in 22nd place, followed by Riley Burns in 28th.
On the men's side, Matias Baccola was the highest finisher for Central, posting rounds of 75, 67, and 73 for a three round total of 215. Tiago Swart was just four strokes back at 219, good enough for a T20th finish. Nzelu Maitha, Cade Basson, and Aaron Teece rounded out the top five golfers for the Eagles.
Central is back out on the links at the MVC Fall Invitational, hosted by Missouri Valley College beginning Monday, Sept. 27 at Indian Foothills Golf Course in Marshall, Mo.
