Central Bowling Opens New Year at Eagle Invitational

Belton, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's and Women's Bowling teams opened up 2024 competition at the Eagle Invitational, hosted by Avila University this past weekend in Belton, Mo. 

The tournament featured numerous schools from both the NAIA and NCAA Division I levels from across the Midwest. 

The CMU Men would finish 13th with a final pin total of 6667.

Junior Cole Johnson was Central's highest finisher, bowling a five-game total of 997. Eric Moore followed with a 17th-place finish with a total of 988. Colton Carrier (55th - 780), Kenneth Lolley (89th), Dustin Linneman (95th), Takudswa Mukonzamariro (115th) also bowled for the Eagles. 

On the women's side, the Eagles finished 12th of 13 teams with a total of 2558. Freshman Maya Elliot placed 47th with a total of 634, followed by Lauren Williams (52nd - 540) and Janell Whitfield (63rd - 413). 

Both teams will be back in action when they compete in the NAIA West Tournament beginning Saturday, Feb. 3 at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kansas.
