Rockford, Ill. - The Central Methodist Men's and Women's Bowling programs took part in the Leatherneck Classic over the weekend at Don Carter Lanes in Rockford, Illinois.
The CMU varsity men finished 28th out of 39 teams in the qualifying round with 7,091 total pins. The CMU JV1 team finished 14th in the qualifying round (7,446 pins), while the JV2 men placed 30th (2,398 pins) in their respective tournament.
Cole Clayton was the highest individual finisher for the men, bowling a five-game total of 951 to place 96th. Hayden Johnson followed with a 109th-place standing after bowling a five-game total of 936.
Branden Groce (117th - 923 - five games), Lane Hook (122nd - 914 - five games), Chase Schnieders (128th - 902 - five games), Lukas Heldenbrand (130th - 902 - five games), Jordan Shepard (136th - 892 - five games), Hunter Scott (145th - 880 - five games), Ethan Duffman-Rode (163rd - 846 - five games), Jake Camacho (170th - 830 - five games), Adrian Wright (185th - 807 - five games) and Takudswa Mukonzamariro (279th - 616 - five games) also competed for the Eagles over the weekend.
For the CMU women, the Eagles placed 23rd in qualifying out of 28 competing teams with a final score of 5,932.
Savannah Rutar placed 100th with a five-game total of 802. Kathryn Chappell followed closely behind with a score of 793 to finish 104th.
Emma Kitchens (143rd - 667 - five games), Alexis Livesay (160th - 597 - four games), Maya Elliott (201st - 397 - three games), Alayna Abernathy (232nd - 252 - two games), and Lauren Williams (235th - 167 - one game) also bowled for the Eagles.
The Eagles will next compete in the NAIA Invitational beginning Friday, Nov. 14, at Gage Bowling Alley in Topeka, Kansas.
