Louisville, Ken. - Central Methodist Head Softball Coach Pat Reardon, along with Associate Head Coach Gene Reardon, Assistant Coach Addyson Reardon, and Graduate Assistants Morgan Wilson and Madison Zaccardo were named the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association NAIA Region V Coaching Staff of the Year.
It marks the eighth time the staff has been recognized by the association.
Central finished the year with a 52-7 record, including a flawless 24-0 record in the Heart of America. The 52 wins are the most among any team in program history, which included 28 straight wins from March 13 - May 4. Additionally, the 28 consecutive wins ties the longest winning streak of any CMU softball program in the last 17 years.
Central completed a sweep of both the Heart Regular Season and Conference Tournament Championships for the third-straight season. Pat Reardon was named the Conference Coach of the Year for the 11th time in his career.
The Eagles were ranked as high as No. 3 in the NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 poll, and made back-to-back trips to the NAIA World Series for the first time in school history.
In the Opening Round, Central won three-straight elimination games to punch their ticket to Columbus, Georgia. The Eagles also opened the season with a 5-1 record at the NFCA Leadoff Classic.
Coach Reardon completes his 32nd season with the program in 2024 and now has 986 career wins, 14 away from 1,000.
