Louisville, Ken. - Over 8,000 student-athletes (8,297) were named 2023 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association this week.
The Central Methodist University Softball team saw 16 of its athletes named to the list. As a team, the Eagles boasted one of the top GPAs in the country, finishing 2022-23 with a team GPA of 3.608
As a result, Central landed at No. 10 in all of the the NAIA and boasted the highest GPA in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
Fellow Heart institutions Grand View University (13th, 3.59), Baker (14th, 3.57), Benedictine College (21st, 3.476), William Penn (22nd, 3.47), and Peru State College (34th, 3.18) also represented the Heart.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,515 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2022-23. NCAA Division III followed with 2,369 and NCAA Division II with 1,790. Junior Colleges and NAIA came in with 944 and 666 student-athletes respectively.
