Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist softball duo of Keighlan Cronin and Madison Love swept the first edition of the Heart Softball Player of the Week honors Monday afternoon.
Cronin was named the Heart Pitcher of the Week while Love earned Heart Player of the Week.
Cronin posted a 2-0 record at the Generals Showdown in Louisiana, with wins against Arlington Baptist and No. 24 Central Baptist College. The St. Charles, Mo. native finished the weekend with 28 strikeouts including a new-career high 15 against Arlington Baptist in the opener.
The highlight of the weekend came against the No. 24 Mustangs, as Cronin threw a perfect game. She faced the minimum number of batters (15) and tallied 13 strikeouts in the 13-0 victory.
Altogether, Cronin gave up zero runs and just one hit.
Love batted .417 with a double and two home runs, including a grand slam against No. 24 CBC. She went on to rack up eight RBI on the week, in addition to a stolen base and three runs scored.
The Eagles finished the weekend with a 3-1 record. They will next complete against Avila and Cottey College Sunday, Feb. 20 at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo.
