Softball Tabs Seven DakTronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, KAN. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that 466 softball student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete Team. Wednesday.

Among the 466 student-athletes whom were honored, seven members of the Central Methodist softball team were recognized for their efforts in the classroom seniors; Skyler Hime (SR/Raymore, Mo.), Erin Enke (SR/Martinez, Calif.), Alyson Fuemmeler (SR/Glasgow, Mo.), Crystal Flagg (SR/Erie, Pa.), and Patricia Neiswander and juniors Addy Reardon (JR/Boonville, Mo.) and Taylor Patton (JR/Columbia, Mo.).

"I am proud of these student-athlets for the commitment to academics and softball," stated head coach Pat Reardon. "We set a high standard on and off the field and these seven individuals are a great example for our current players and the future ones, as well."

Siena Heights University and Culver-Stockton College led all institutions with nine members each. Central Methodist University, Freed-Hardeman University, Madonna University, Tennessee Wesleyan University, University of Michigan-Dearborn, and University of Saint Francis (Ind.) followed with seven athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
