Louisville, Ky. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Monday, that 172 student-athletes from 71 programs have received 2016 NFCA NAIA All-Region accolades. Among the 172 honored, were Central Methodist's Lauren Geringer (O'Fallon, Mo.), Hannah Blackmon (Beaumont, Tex.), Jessie Wilmes (Flint Hill, Mo.), and Erin Enke (Martinez, Calif.).

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's six regions with first and second-team recognition. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2016 NFCA NAIA All-American squads.

Central Methodist University first baseman Lauren Geringer and second baseman Hannah Blackmon earned spots on the First Team in the Midwest Region, while shortstop Jessie Wilmes and pitcher Erin Enke earned spots on the Second Team in the Midwest Region.

Lauren Geringer finished the season with a .330 batting average, and finished second in the NAIA with 22 homeruns and a team high 71 RBI's. Hannah Blackmon led CMU with a .377 batting average, and finished with six homeruns and 49 RBI's. Jessie Wilmes hit .325 this season and finished tied for second on the team in homeruns with Hannah Blackmon; finishing with six on the season. Wilmes also drove in 33 RBI's. Erin Enke finished the year with a 21-8 record and a team best 2.00 ERA. Enke also finished with three saves and 178 strikeouts in 199.2 innings worked.

The 2016 NFCA NAIA All-America teams will be announced on Thursday, June 2, via NFCA.org.
