Geringer, Kinnison sweep HAAC weekly honors
KANSAS CITY - Central Methodist junior infielder Lauren Geringer and junior pitcher Haley Kinnison have been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday. Kinnison wins the award for a third time this season.

Central Methodist (33-6, 12-0) went 4-0 last week with doubleheader sweeps of Missouri Valley and Culver-Stockton (Mo.).

Geringer batted .600 (9-of-15) in four games last week with three homers, nine RBIs, one double, five runs scored and two walks for the ninth-ranked Eagles, who have won a school-record 22-straight overall and 26-straight HAAC games. The O'Fallon, Mo. native also posted a slugging percentage of 1.3 and ranks 21st in the NAIA in home runs (12), 32nd in runs batted in per game (1.2) and 39th in runs scored per game (1.1). Geringer is the school's all-time leader in homers with 37 and sits one behind tying her 2013 single-season school record of 13.

Kinnison extended her consecutive scoreless innings streak to 21 and allowed just three hits in two complete games last week to improve to 16-3 in the circle this season. The Lee's Summit, Mo., product struck out 18 total batters, including a career-high 14 against the Wildcats. Kinnison ranks ninth in the NAIA in hits allowed per 9 (4.1), 11th in opponents batting average (0.170) and earned run average (1.3), 15th in wins (16) and 21st in batters struck out (129).
