Columbia, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Cross Country team competed at the Larry Young Invite Friday evening in Columbia, Mo.
The meet, which was held at Gans Cross Country Course, featured a large field of 218 total runners representing 21 different schools throughout the country.
Central Methodist posted a 14th place finish as a team. Kyle Newberry was the first Eagle to cross the finish line, landing just outside the Top 20 at 21st with an 8K time of 26:37.7.
Meshack Kiptanui followed, finishing 58th in a time of 27:53.2. Elvis Kipkosgei finished 89th in 28:37.5.
Doriye Jackson (115th - 29:20.7), Jacchaeus Taylor (149th - 30:23.2), Elliott Reed (30:53.5) and Isaiah Barg (33:01.7) all ran for the Eagles as well.
Central will return to action in Columbia at the Brian Simpson Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.
