Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist University senior Leroy Williams was named the Heart of America Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office Monday. 

It marks the first weekly honor for the senior this season. 

Williams captured a second place finish in the 60m hurdles at the Coach Alsup Open this past weekend, clocking a time of 8.06 seconds. 

The new PR for the native of Cypress, Calif. hit the 'B' standard for qualification into this year's NAIA Indoor National Championships. 

Williams and the Eagles will next compete in the Central Missouri Invite Friday, Jan. 24 in Warrensburg, Mo.
