Maryville, Mo. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program continued indoor season on the site of the Heart of America Championships, Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.
It was a successful weekend for the program, as four more Eagles booked their ticket to the national championships.
On the women's side, senior Haley Bellamy punched her ticket to nationals in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.68 meters to hit the 'A' standard and earn a first place finish. The mark was also a new personal best for the St. Louis native.
Natalie Calcaterra finished in a tie for second behind Bellamy at a height of 1.50 meters.
Senior Dayana Montegro clocked a 600 yard time of 1:24.83 to place first and earn her spot at nationals. Teammate Diane Ondobo also competed in the 600 yard run, securing a nationals spot with a time of 1:25.20 and a runner-up finish.
The duos' times are currently the No. 2 and No. 3 times in the NAIA this season respectively.
Sofia Rizo placed third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.31 seconds.
The 4x400m relay team of Montenegro, Ondobo, Joana Vakasobuduru, and Aroa Carballo placed third with a time of 3:56.97.
For the men, senior Leroy Williams finished second in the 60m hurdles, tying his personal best in 8.06 seconds and punching his ticket to nationals.
Adam Trachsel earned a runner-up finish in the 60m dash, crossing the finish line in 7.01 seconds.
Ethan Smith placed second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.05 meters.
Azaan Stoughtenborough landed on the podium in the triple jump, placing third with a mark of 13.16 meters. Brayton Stephenson placed third in the shot put with final toss of 16.20 meters.
The men's 4x800m relay team of David Ceballos, Jacchaeus Taylor, Hugo Massa and Doriye Jackson concluded the meet for Central, winning the relay with a final time of 7:55.82.
CMU will next comepte at the Central Missouri Invite Friday, Jan. 24 in Warrensburg, Mo.
