Columbia, Mo. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program returned from the holiday break and resumed indoor competition at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational Saturday on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia.
On the men's side, Colder Evans finished third in the weight throw with a new personal best of 17.19 meters. Azaan Stoughtenborough earned a third place standing in the triple jump with a mark of 13.92 meters.
Leroy Williams took home first place in the 110m hurdles in a time of 8.19 seconds, just missing the national qualifying 'B' standard.
The trio of Hugo Massa, Doriye Jackson, and David Ceballos finished 1-2-3 in the 600m run. Both Massa and Jackson qualified for the national championship after clocking times of 1:20.46 and 1:20.76 respectively to meet the qualifying 'B' standard.
Additionally, Massa's time set a new school record in the 600m, previously set by Jackson in 2023.
The 4x400m relay team of David Ceballos, Logan Bass, Sam Thomas, and Tyrone Summerall placed second with a time of 3:21.68.
On the women's side, senior Renee Finke broke the school record in the high jump, previously held by both Finke and Delaney Miller in 2024. Finke cleared a height of 1.76 meters to hit the 'A' standard for national qualification. It is currently the No. 2 height in the NAIA this season.
Finke also finished third in the 60m hurdles in 9.22 seconds.
Zakia Porter posted a second place finish in the 60m dash, crossing the finish line in 7.78 seconds.
Maria Sahagun and Dayana Montenegro finished first and third in the 200m dash with times of 25.39 and 25.52 seconds respectively.
Like the men's team, the 4x400m relay team of Diane Ondobo, Montenegro, Aroa Carballo and Lauren Kennon earned a second place standing in their race with a time of 4:02.02.
Central will next compete at the Concordia Polar Dog Invite Friday, Jan. 17 beginning at 12:00 p.m. in Seward, Neb.
